“We love Petra. Not only did it catch those 4 attacks that our prior ITDR whiffed on, it's also just really fast and intuitive for getting logs and reporting on incidents.”

The Challenge
Like a lot of Huntress-loyal MSPs, Alex thought identity threat detection was a solved problem in his stack.
Compu-SOLVE first encountered Petra at SecureIT Summit during a boardroom session on behavioral detection. The core argument was simple: where most ITDR tools rely on login location to flag account compromises, Petra uses behavior. Alex agreed to a trial.
I love Huntress and it's gonna take a lot to convince me.
Detection Precision and Speed
Petra immediately flagged 4 compromises Huntress ITDR missed.
Over the first month running Petra and Huntress ITDR side-by-side, Petra surfaced 4 account compromises that Huntress ITDR did not alert on. All 4 used residential proxy toolkits, routing attacker traffic through local residential IP addresses rather than VPN infrastructure. The attackers used Canadian residential IPs, so Huntress's location-based detection had nothing to flag, even when attackers pivoted to access sensitive emails.
On 2 additional incidents where both tools were running, Petra got there first each time:
- Petra detected the first incident 2 minutes 30 seconds after logs were published. Huntress ITDR detected it at 12 minutes 30 seconds.
- Petra detected the second incident 36 seconds after logs were published. Huntress ITDR detected it at 9 minutes.
Across the 3 most recent live attacks under Petra's watch, attackers accessed 0 emails and 0 documents.
Unmatched Support
When Compu-SOLVE has a question about an incident, they get someone from Petra on the phone.
After the 4 missed detections, Alex went to Huntress's incident chat to get someone on the phone. He eventually reached them, but the conversation didn't resolve his questions about what the Microsoft logs were showing. The contrast with Petra's support stood out — Petra's team made the forensics on each incident readily available and easy to understand, packaging the details in a way Alex could turn around and share with clients.
Petra as the Standard
Account compromises are the FBI's number-one source of cybercrime losses. Compu-SOLVE's clients are now covered.
I love Huntress but their ITDR is not up to par. You can't escape account compromises, they're everywhere these days. We're super happy to partner with Petra to stop them.
